Description
The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Administering Emergency Medical Gases (RQF) has been specifically designed for those who have a responsibility for providing treatment to patients in prehospital care. This course focuses on the protocols for administering emergency medical gases, including Entonox, for individuals working in professions like the police, fire service, or private ambulance sector.
During this half-day course, learners will develop the necessary knowledge and skills for the safe, prompt, and effective administration of emergency oxygen and analgesic agents. Successful candidates will leave with the skills, knowledge, and competencies needed for administering emergency medical gases safely and promptly in an emergency.

Entry Requirements
Learners must be at least 16 years old on the first day of the training. Before they can register for this qualification, learners must have:
- Successfully completed a Level 3 First Aid at Work (QCF/RQF) (FAW) or a QA-recognised equivalent, and
- Knowledge/awareness of an automated external defibrillator (AED) if it isn’t incorporated into the FAW.
There are no other formal entry requirements, but to benefit from the learning, we advise that learners have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy or equivalent and a basic understanding of first aid.
