Urgent Care at Home

Winter support service

When you or a loved one needs help, waiting hours for an ambulance can be frightening, especially in winter. Our Urgent Care at Home service is designed for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries where you want prompt help or a clinical assessment and treatment at home.

We operate from 8am to 6pm 7 days a week, and we aim to be with you within 2 hours of booking (subject to demand, distance, weather and traffic). If you need to go to hospital, we can arrange safe transfer and continue care on the journey.

If you think it might be life-threatening, call 999 immediately.

What you get from North West Medical Solutions?

Your call will be triaged by a fully qualified, experienced, professionally registered clinician.

Depending on the outcome of the triage, different response models will be triggered.

Response options available include:

• Non-clinical response. This might be to get someone off the floor who is not injured.
• RRV clinician response. Examples would include falls with minor injuries.
• Ambulance response, including hospital transfer if required.

We provide clinical assessment and appropriate interventions within scope, then agree on the safest next step.

If hospital care is needed, we can support a safe transfer and provide a clear handover.

FAQ’s

Some frequent questions and answers

Is this an NHS service?

No. This is a private service provided by North West Medical Solutions. Please do not delay in calling 999 if you think it is life-threatening.

Are you CQC registered?

Yes. North West Medical Solutions is registered with the Care Quality Commission for relevant regulated activities and was inspected recently.

Do you guarantee a 2 hour arrival?

We aim to attend within 2 hours during operating hours, but response times can vary due to demand, distance, traffic, and weather. Being clear about limitations helps keep claims accurate.

Will I always get a registered clinician?

Not always. The deployment of a registered clinician is based on the individual's needs. Our medically trained non-registered clinicians are able to provide essential care and assist with many simple incidents that do not require the advanced skills of a registered healthcare professional.

Can you take someone to hospital?

Yes. If hospital assessment or admission is needed, we can provide ambulance transfer where clinically appropriate and available.

How do we call for your assistance?
